Anyone that has been spearing for a while knows that speargun bungees were never made to last. This product is the exception. It is made from 100% Norprene rubber and cored with 1056 lb UHMWPE cord that enables the tubing to stretch an extra 4 inches in length. Twenty years ago, in frustration with bungees that perished very quickly, I made my own for 6 of my guns using Norprene. Those bungees are still being used today and I have never had to replace or repair them. This gives me great confidence to offer our product with a LIFETIME WARRANTY. If it ever breaks through normal use, we will replace or refund it. Norprene Industrial Tubing is expensive, but the important thing for you is that it won't perish with the hard saltwater environment and UV it is exposed to. If it is cut with something sharp then it can tear, but if used for what it is intended for it should never break. It uses a 770 lb swivel in 316 grade stainless steel for maximum corrosion resistance. The 2 mm 316 grade stainless steel snap is also very strong, over 270 lb breaking strain, but does take a bit of strength to open. Two hands is best, one to push the spring down and one to move it to the side to release it. It is a great idea to become familiar with the best technique to open it when you are out of the water, so if you ever need to undo it in a hurry in the water, you know how to. To maximize the life of our product we have tried to excel in every area. Instead of just one constrictor knot around the Norprene, another wrap around is made and a second constrictor knot tied. After the ends of the 1mm UHMWPE cords are melted off, the whole lot is covered with a piece of heatshrink. We really don't want our bungees to let you down, EVER.
